Laboratory & Field Testing

Laboratory & Field Testing of Construction Materials

At Superior Labs, we provide reliable laboratory and field testing services for a variety of construction materials. Our expert team ensures compliance with national and international standards, delivering accurate results for both government and private projects.

We perform material testing, concrete mix proportioning, durability assessments, and non-destructive tests to guarantee quality, strength, and safety of construction works.

What We Test

Cement, aggregates, bricks, blocks, bituminous mixes, timber, rebar, and other building materials.
Standard, High strength, Self-compacting, Lightweight, Fiber-reinforced, Geo-polymer Concrete (M15–M50).
Structural and reinforcing steel: Tensile, Yield, bend, Re-bend and Chemical Properties.
Laboratory and field tests on concrete, soil, rock, and other construction materials, including durability tests like RCPT, ISAT, water permeability, and chloride penetration.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of in-situ concrete is a vital technique used to assess the quality, uniformity, and strength of reinforced concrete structures without causing any damage. These evaluations are essential both immediately after construction and during the service life of structures.

NDT helps in identifying potential defects, verifying construction quality, and supporting informed decisions related to maintenance, repair, and structural strengthening.

Core Testing

Core Test for RC Structures, Pavements, etc. (Semi-destructive Test)

Semi-destructive testing (SDT) involves evaluating the in-situ quality and strength of concrete by removing small samples from structural elements. Concrete cores are drilled from existing members such as beams, columns, slabs, and pavements. Concrete cube tests are conducted on fresh concrete collected during construction, cast, cured, and tested at specified ages (typically 7 and 28 days) to determine quality. This method ensures ongoing QA/QC procedures and verifies that supplied concrete meets the required strength criteria.

Our Core Testing Capabilities

Extraction and testing of concrete cores to assess the in-situ strength and quality of RC structures, CC pavements, and CC lining.
Fresh concrete cubes are cast, cured, and tested at specified ages (typically 7 and 28 days) to determine compressive strength and ensure compliance with construction standards.
Evaluation of in-situ strength of hardened concrete through core extraction from structural elements to verify performance and durability.
Evaluation of hardened concrete cubes to determine compliance with design strength, supporting QA/QC processes during construction.
Extraction and testing of bitumen cores to evaluate the density and compaction of bituminous layers in pavements.
Third Party Quality Assurance

Third Party Quality Assurance of Construction Activities

We provide independent third-party quality assurance (QA) services to ensure construction meets design specifications, standards, and client expectations. Our experienced engineers evaluate materials, workmanship, and processes, delivering reliable reports and guidance.

Our team can be stationed on-site or conduct periodic inspections based on project requirements, ensuring continuous monitoring and early detection of quality issues.

We check construction materials, review test reports, and collect samples when necessary to confirm compliance with specifications. Quality inspections cover formwork, fabrication, concreting, and finishes to maintain durability and performance.

Periodic reports are provided to clients, highlighting findings and corrective actions. Additionally, we offer on-site training to ensure personnel follow best practices and maintain consistent quality throughout the project.

Our QA Capabilities

Setting up a team of engineers at site or conducting periodic site visits based on project requirements to perform quality inspections.
Checking construction materials and reviewing test reports, including collecting samples when necessary to examine quality.
Quality inspection of materials and works like formwork, concreting, and finishes.
Furnishing periodic reports to the client highlighting quality aspects and any corrective actions required.
Providing site training to staff on quality aspects and best practices in construction.
